The first Suicide Squad consisted of Rick Flag, his girlfriend Karin Grace, Dr. Hugh Evans, and Jess Bright, although later Squads also featured Ace High, Beast, Blowhard, Gyp, Jeb Stuart, Lawless, Nickels, Rick Flag, Sr., and Shiv. The reason why the story is so interesting is because these villains, who used to operate on their own, must rid themselves of their interpersonal conflicts and work together as a team.
